Webkick's 2017

With the new year stretching out in front of us, we look back on everything that made 2017 a truly outstanding year for us...

The ending of another year brings with it the opportunity to reflect and reminisce; to look back on everything that made this year a success, and the exciting opportunities this opens up in the future.

Therefore, to mark the end of 2017 and the beginning of 2018, here is everything that made the last year one we wish to celebrate:

Our charitable giving: we labeled 2017 Webkick’s Year of Giving, and what a year it was! We ran a competition to give away a free website and 6 months of Google Ads management to a local, Andover-based charity - asking local people to nominate their chosen charity. Several local charities were nominated and Andover Mind were the lucky winners! We were delighted to work with this deserving cause; supporting the charity’s growth in the area.

Supporting local businesses: we’re incredibly passionate about our local community, and supporting other local businesses to grow. This year, we were involved in several business networking events; hosting June’s Andover Mutual Business Group meeting at our studio - an opportunity for small business owners in the Andover area to get together and form lasting business relationships - and The Main Event business networking held in July.

Creating brand ambassadors: leading disability charity Enham Trust, based in the nearby village of Enham Alamein, needed our help and we were more than happy to oblige - running a workshop for over 30 of the charity’s employees at their bi-annual Staff Conference. Our workshop focussed on social media, and how to improve engagement; growing followers, increasing brand awareness, and showing staff the importance of their individual roles as brand ambassadors for the Trust.

Employing an Apprentice: over the summer, we started working closely with our local college to offer one student a part time position as an Apprentice Web Developer. Whilst studying, our Apprentice would gave some ‘real world’ experience of working for a digital marketing and web design agency as a developer. Our Apprentice, Joel, started back in June, and we’re very pleased with his progress so far.

A brand new website: the year also saw us reinvent ourselves; not only working to continually refine the services we’re able to offer our clients, but the way in which we present ourselves, and our own brand. We’ve been working on a brand new website for the last few months, which is set to launch very soon. Exciting times!

The success of the 13th Business Awards: for several years now, we’ve been heavily involved in the Test Valley Business Awards - a local initiative created to give particularly new and smaller businesses the promotion and recognition they need to grow - and this year saw us complete number 13, with 170 local business representatives attending a 3 course, Michelin star meal.

80 pieces of original content: including this very blog, we’ve created an astounding 80 pieces of original, useful content for our blog; taking you through everything web design and digital marketing, to ensure you get the very best out of your online presence to aid the growth of your business.

So, there you have it! A brief overview of everything that made 2017 a really valuable, exciting, and productive year for us here at Webkick.

And, honestly, we can’t wait to see what 2018 brings…
