Sharing our digital skills to achieve the very best in digital marketing and graphic designAs you will know if you follow our work, here at Webkick, we’re really passionate about supporting local business, investing in the community, and generally giving back; all this on top of our day-to-day work, delivering great looking, minty fresh websites and effective digital marketing strategies for our discerning clients.
Going the extra mile for success
In short, we care about what we do and the people around us – always willing to go the extra mile to ensure our clients, potential clients, partners, and everyone in between has exactly what they need to succeed (occasionally, with a little bit of rhyme, too!).
This is why last week, we were able to take on 2 lovely ladies – Rachael Oakley and Andrea Maloney from Farnborough College of Technology – as part of our team for the next couple of weeks; gaining work experience with us in all things marketing, digital marketing, and graphic design.
Learning the ropes: the wonderful realms of marketing
Keen to gain expert advice and experience in the wonderful realms of creative marketing, our enthusiastic and ambitious duo – Rachael & Andrea – will be supporting us with everything graphic design; from promotional and business card design, to logo design, adverts, and book designs.
Andrea, who is studying for a BA (Hons) in Graphic Design, said about her time with us so far:
“As a part of our program, we are required to do a 2 week work placement in a creative agency. We’re really pleased to have been able to support these very talented young ladies in this way, and wish them every success in their respective journeys; becoming the next generation of digital marketers, and graphic designers…
“I was really excited to hear from Webkick and Nicole. At first, I was nervous because this was my first placement and I didn’t know what to expect at all but straight from my very first day I felt welcomed and supported.
“The Webkick team is small and very friendly and Nicole always made sure she would explain any questions I had.
I found the whole experience easy and fun. No day was the same and generally the projects were very exciting and suited to my level of skills. It was really interesting and helpful – particularly in showing me how different the ‘real world of work’ is from daily student life, and how many more dimensions there are actually to think about; that it’s not just about a pretty logo or business card but also about marketing point of view and, most importantly, about the view of the client. This was particularly very new for me because I have not worked on live briefs before and always had a freedom to choose my own approach.
“But being here for a significant period of time period also helped me to boost my confidence, believe in my ideas more, work better as a team, and shape my interests further.
“Overall I am very glad to have chosen Webkick as my first work experience.”
