A traditional Gunsmiths based in Salisbury, Greenfields came to Webkick when they realised a new and pressing need; to bring themselves up-to-date with their competitors, and refresh their existing website.View the project
Although Greenfields already had a website, it was over 10 years old, and hadn’t really changed much in that time; a successful shop in the centre of Salisbury, their trade has never relied on a strong online presence to make sales – the nature of the products mean customers need to visit the shop personally to make a purchase. However, researching their competitors, Greenfields found that their website looked old and tired next to other Gunsmiths; competitors had space to share and discuss the latest industry events, and showcase their products online, where Greenfields didn’t. This had to change…
Favouring the face to face approach with all of our clients, we went to meet the people behind Greenfields for an initial design discussion – talking through exactly what they wanted from a new site, and how we were going to achieve it. It soon became clear that, rather than driving sales of any of their products through the site – such as accessories or clothing – Greenfields wanted to increase enquiries, grow footfall into the shop, and own a great-looking, modern website they could once again be proud of; sharing the latest industry news and events, and showcasing their in-store products.
Now, Greenfields has a modern, attractive website with a clear and simple user journey, from landing to enquiry – a social space where visitors can find out about the industry’s latest news and events, gain more information about what’s available in store, and connect with the business through social media. Since the website first launched, Greenfields has noticed a rise in enquiries through the site, and increased footfall into the shop; now customers can find the information they need about the products they want before they buy. And if they’ve never been, they can find out exactly where the shop is located with a handy map!
