As a well-established solicitors with offices in Andover and Salisbury, Ranson Houghton came to Webkick when the need was identified for a stronger, more up-to-date online presence; starting with a website redesign that bought the company’s existing website in line with Google’s rules surrounding mobile technology. In order to attract new clients, Ranson Houghton needed a responsive website. And that’s not all, as the project progressed, a need for new company branding was also addressed…View the project
A cornerstone business, first established in the heart of Andover many years ago, Ranson Houghton’s main objective was to create a more modern website. Having never previously relied on online enquiries to gain new clients, their existing website was a little tired, lacking one vital element – responsiveness.
As the prevalence of mobile technology and the rate of people using the internet to discover and use new services increases, so too does the need for any business to possess a strong online presence through a responsive (mobile-friendly) website. As a business without a responsive website, Ranson Houghton were missing out on capturing up to 80% of potential new clients. Due to their long history, Ranson Houghton had also gained many different versions of their company logo. Knowing this would be diluting their brand, we needed to take action.
Bringing a long-standing business with a strong reputation onto a digital platform; carrying its traditional values into the online realms, can be tricky.
Their website needed to complement their ‘offline’ work, not overtake it. To do this, we built a fully-responsive website with social features and contact details at the top of every page; simplifying and clearly directing the user journey by offering specific service areas along the menu bar – ‘Wills & Probate’ or ‘Conveyancing’ for example – giving visitors to the site the opportunity to quickly and efficiently gain the information they need, plus staff profiles, which put them in contact with the right person in the right department.
Then onto the logo; creating a new brand which amalgamated all existing versions of their logo into one, universal graphic – strengthening their overall message and ensuring instant recognition.
Ranson Houghton now have a modern, responsive website that gets them found on organic search results made through search engines, whilst encouraging a defined user journey.
Visitors to the site also have the opportunity to engage with the company on other online platforms – Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn – to ensure brand loyalty, whilst positioning the company at the forefront of visitors’ minds at all times. Uniformed staff profiles enable visitors to the site to efficiently establish who they need to speak to and how staff may be able to help them before they get in touch, supporting potential new clients to make that all-important decision about whether to enquire.
Lastly, the company now have one logo they can use on all their marketing material; strengthening their brand.
“What started with an approach to Webkick to update our website evolved, prompted by Webkick into a general rebrand of the firm’s image and logo. The staff at Webkick were proactive and extremely responsive to our request for guidance throughout the entire process. They ensured an up-to-date and contemporary image for the firm was achieved with a responsive website compatible with all mobile devices."
